Our ProgramsElementary Curriculum Resources
|Bridges in Mathematics is a comprehensive K–5 curriculum that equips teachers to fully address state standards in a rigorous, engaging, and accessible manner. Students gain a deep understanding of concepts, proficiency with key skills, and the ability to solve complex problems. The curriculum is composed of three distinct but integrated components: Problems & Investigations, Work Places and Number Corner. (Grades K-5)
Students in K - 5 have access to Bridges manipulatives on their Chromebooks.
Heggerty Phonemic Awareness is a research- based 35 week curriculum of daily phonemic and phonological awareness lesson plans. (Grades Pre-K - 1st)
Amplify CKLA Amplify Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) is a language arts program for Grades PreK–5 that combines a multi-sensory approach to phonics with rich texts carefully sequenced to build content knowledge—so that students learn to read and read to learn at the same time.
Every day in Grades PreK–2, students complete one full lesson that builds foundational reading skills, as well as one full lesson that builds background knowledge. In Grades 3–5, students start to master the skills of reading, further opening up their worlds. (Grades K-5)
Amplify Science is an engaging curriculum for grades K–8 designed by experts at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science. As you look through the program, you may notice that it looks different from any science curriculum you’ve seen before. That’s because, in recent years, science teaching has moved away from fact-based lessons, such as those that require memorization, and toward deep learning, where students actively investigate and figure out real-world problems. This shift in science teaching and learning is reflected in new national science standards (the Next Generation Science Standards) and in—you guessed it—Amplify Science.
(Grades 4 & 5)
The Buckeye Valley Local School District’s Secondary (Grades 6-12) Curriculum is based on the Ohio Learning Standards. Ohio’s Learning Standards outline the skills and knowledge that will help students become ready for success in college, careers, and life. Learning standards identify what students should know and be able to do. The State Board of Education began a regular review cycle of the core subject areas, the fine arts, and other subject areas in 2016, and adopted updated learning standards in most subject areas during the past five years. In Buckeye Valley, our curriculum and related resources are reviewed using a cyclical process that ensures alignment with state learning standards and is tailored to meet the needs of all students.
